PVB Recycling Technology
Advanced compounding, melt filtration, and additive stabilization for post-consumer PVB polymers.
Transforming Post-Consumer PVB into Advanced Polymers
Reclaimed PVB from automotive windshields contains residual plasticizers (typically 3GO or similar esters) that give it unique elastomeric flexibility. However, post-consumer PVB must be re-engineered to achieve consistent thermal stability and melt flow index (MFI).
Melt Filtration & Degassing
Our continuous extrusion lines utilize dual-piston high-mesh screen changers to filter out any microscopic particulates down to 50 microns. Multi-zone vacuum degassing removes moisture and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Thermal Stabilization & Compounding
Specialized antioxidants, UV stabilizers, and compatibility agents are compounded into the polymer matrix. This prevents thermal degradation during downstream processing and restores mechanical properties comparable to prime resin.
Product Grades Produced
- Extrusion Grade: High melt strength for sheets, membranes, and profiles.
- Injection Molding Grade: Adjusted MFI for automotive dampers, footwear outsoles, and tool handles.
- Coating & Primer Grade: High-solubility PVB for metal primers, wood sealers, and anti-corrosive finishes.
