Windshield Recycling Technology
Step-by-step technical breakdown of our proprietary windshield delamination and separation workflow.
State-of-the-Art Windshield Recycling Process
Our engineered process achieves a 99.8% recovery efficiency for both glass and PVB components through a calibrated 5-stage mechanical separation workflow:
Stage 1: Collection & Inspection
End-of-life vehicle (ELV) windshields and building laminated glass are collected from auto-dismantlers, insurance scrap yards, and repair centers. Windshields are sorted and cleaned of rubber gaskets, rear-view mirror brackets, and metallic connectors.
Stage 2: Primary Mechanical Peeling & Crushing
Windshields are fed into specialized counter-rotating crushing and peeling rolls with precise clearance calibration. The rollers fracture the outer and inner glass layers into tiny micro-fragments without tearing the elastic PVB interlayer film.
Stage 3: Secondary High-Frequency Vibration Screening
The fractured glass sheets pass over multi-deck vibrating screens where loose glass cullet is instantly separated and collected via under-chute conveyors.
Stage 4: Air Classification & Polishing
PVB sheets undergo high-velocity turbulent air washing to dislodge any stubbornly adhering micro-glass particles. Optical and magnetic separators remove any metallic debris.
Stage 5: Baling & Polymer Compounding
The purified PVB film is baled or directly fed to shredders and twin-screw compounding extruders to produce uniform, melt-filtered pellets ready for molding applications.
