Glass Materials & Recovery
From automotive windshields and architectural laminated glass to precision-graded glass powder and reclaimed PVB polymers — explore Aavishkar's complete range of recovered glass materials.
Source Material → Process → Recovered Output
Every glass product starts with a verified feedstock stream and passes through dedicated separation, sizing, and quality stages.
Source Feedstock
Automotive windshields, architectural laminated glass, flat/float glass, container glass, and verified specialty glass streams.
Separation & Processing
Delamination, mechanical-chemical separation, magnetic/eddy cleaning, crushing, grinding, sieving, and quality inspection.
Recovered Outputs
Clean cullet, precision-graded glass powder (20–400 mesh), reclaimed PVB polymer, and specialty recovered materials.
Glass Families & Composition
Understanding glass composition matters for proper recycling. "Type" can mean chemical family, source stream, physical form, color, or particle-size grade — these must remain as separate catalog fields.
| Glass Family | Composition / Characteristic | Common Uses | Recycling Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soda-Lime-Silica | Silica-based glass modified with sodium and calcium compounds. Most common glass family. | Bottles, jars, window/float glass, tableware | Common container and flat-glass streams. Cross-contamination can affect suitability. |
| Borosilicate | Contains boron oxide with silica; low thermal expansion, resists rapid temperature change. | Laboratory, cookware, specialty products | Keep separate unless processor has approved mixed recipe. |
| Aluminosilicate | Silica with high alumina; formulated for chemical durability and performance. | Display, specialty/technical glass | Require source records or material analysis; do not infer from appearance. |
| Lead Crystal | Some traditional crystal contains lead oxide. "Crystal" may refer to regulated definitions. | Decorative tableware, specialty items | Keep out of general recycled cullet; assess restricted substance rules. |
| Glass Fiber / Fiberglass | Glass formed as fibers; milled fiber is particulate/fiber, not standard glass powder. | Composite reinforcement, engineered products | Distinct recycling stream; confirm process capability and handling controls. |
| Laminated Automotive / Architectural | Glass plies bonded by PVB interlayer; composite until delaminated. | Windshields, laminated building glazing | Must be processed to separate glass and polymer; report output purity with defined test methods. |

Glass Cullet
Sorted, decontaminated cullet from windshield and flat glass streams. Sized 2–30mm, furnace-ready. Source, color, contamination limits, and QC data.
Glass Powder & Mesh Grades
Precision-ground glass powder catalogued by mesh grade (20, 80–100, 100, 200, 300, 400). Each grade with sieve standard, particle distribution, and CoA.
Windshield Recovery & PVB
Delamination flow showing how automotive windshields are separated into clean cullet and reclaimed PVB polymer. Two distinct output streams.
Recycled Glass Product Forms
Separating how the material was recovered and processed from what it's made of.
Mixed / Color-Sorted Cullet
Broken glass from a known source; may be mixed, clear, green or amber.
Source stream, color, size range, contamination limits, moisture, packaging
Crushed Clear Glass
Crushed material described as clear. "Crystal clear" describes appearance, not chemistry.
Color/appearance, particle range, source, sharpness/dust handling
Glass Powder
Ground glass sold as powder; particle distribution may be broad.
Feedstock, composition, color, particle-size distribution, sieve method
Glass Micro Powder / Fine Grades
Supplier-defined fine grades, sometimes represented by mesh number.
Mesh designation, actual aperture basis, measured distribution
Reclaimed PVB
Polymer recovered from laminated glass — flakes, scrap, or pellets.
Residual glass, moisture, polymer condition, color, downstream limits
Milled Fiberglass
Short milled fibers or powder-like material; morphology matters.
Fiber-length distribution, diameter, binder/sizing, bulk density, SDS
