Pioneering Windshield, PVB & Industrial Material Recovery
Transforming end-of-life vehicle (ELV) laminated glass and industrial polymers into high-purity furnace-ready glass cullet, compounded PVB resins, and sustainable secondary raw materials.
Giving a New Life to Laminated Glass & Post-Consumer PVB
Aavishkar Recycling LLP operates dedicated industrial material recovery hubs and recycling complexes across India. Our flagship division specializes in solving one of the automotive and glass industries' most stubborn challenges: the recycling of damaged laminated windshields and architectural safety glass.
For decades, damaged windshields worldwide were dumped directly into municipal landfills because separating the tough, adhesive PolyVinyl Butyral (PVB) interlayer from shattered glass sheets was technically unfeasible. Through years of intensive R&D, our founders developed a patented mechanical-chemical glass delamination system that yields 92%–93% pure furnace-ready glass cullet and 6%–7% recyclable PVB polymer scrap with less than 1% glass residue.
"Our circular automotive loop: Damaged windshields → High-purity Glass Cullet for insulation glass wool + Compounded PVB for heavy-duty car mats and anti-corrosive chassis primers → Back into vehicles."
Operating specialized processing facilities in Bahadurgarh (Haryana) and Maharashtra/Gujarat industrial corridors with nationwide collection networks.
The History and Future of Windshield & PVB Recycling
From specialized polymer compounding in 2004 to internationally recognized patented laminated glass separation technologies today.
Foundation in Polymer & Rubber Compounding
Founded by experienced polymer and rubber technology specialists with a core focus on custom compounding of plastic and elastomeric compounds. Understanding our social responsibility, we initiated specialized recycling lines for post-industrial rubbers and polymers to keep secondary raw materials in productive circulation.
Patented Hybrid Mechanical-Chemical Delamination
Recognizing that automotive windshields and architectural laminated glass were universally condemned to landfills, our engineering team dedicated years of trials to develop a breakthrough chemical-mechanical glass separation system. Using non-hazardous, eco-friendly separation agents, we achieved patents in India and patent-pending status across international territories.
CE-Certified Lines & Downstream PVB Products
Forged a strategic technical partnership with Alfa Therm Ltd to manufacture heavy-duty CE-certified continuous windshield recycling lines (5 to 20 Tons/Hour). Simultaneously established downstream manufacturing facilities converting reclaimed PVB into footwear impact modifiers, anti-corrosive primers, and all-weather automotive floor mats under the EcoGuard / Auto Aim brands.
Automotive Glass Wool & Nationwide EPR Hubs
Expanding joint-venture recycling units near float glass manufacturing clusters to deliver zero-freight furnace-ready glass cullet. Partnering with glass research institutes to commercialize lightweight foam glass bricks and automotive glass wool insulation mats, achieving the ultimate zero-waste circular loop.
About Windshield & PolyVinyl Butyral (PVB)
Understanding the unique physical and chemical characteristics of laminated safety glass and how secondary compounding unlocks its true industrial value.
Laminated Safety Glass Architecture
Modern automotive windshields and architectural safety windows consist of two curved sheets of float glass bonded under heat and pressure with a resilient plastic interlayer: PolyVinyl Butyral (PVB). When impacted, the glass fractures without shattering into dangerous shards because fragments remain firmly anchored to the elastomeric PVB membrane.
PVB Polymer Chemistry & Behavior
Developed in the 1930s, PolyVinyl Butyral (PVB) is a non-toxic, non-corrosive specialty resin. It exhibits extraordinary optical transparency, film-forming elasticity, high tensile elongation (>250%), and supreme adhesion to inorganic substrates. While insoluble in water, it dissolves readily in organic solvents such as alcohols, esters, ketones, and aromatic hydrocarbons.
